WCFD does not charge for the services we provide. We operate using funds from three main sources: fire tax district, revenue from 2 yearly BBQs and an annual fund drive.

A fire tax is collect annually by Union County for the WCFD fire tax district. The rate is determined each year based upon the budget that is submitted by WCFD's board of directors and approved by the County Commissioners. The current rate is $.0167 per $100 of property value.

WCFD also earns revenue by hosting two BBQs each year. Besides being a fund raising activity, it has become a community event enjoyed by everyone. The BBQ continues to grow each year. For the January 2006 BBQ, WCFD cooked 6,500 lbs of pork and 2,200 lbs of turkey. Be sure to join us. The BBQs are held on the fourth Saturday in January and the second Saturday in October.

WCFD conducts an annual fund drive. Fund drive information is sent to each home in the fire district in September. All donations to WCFD are tax deductible donation. WCFD is non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please send it to:
