Union county operates the 911 and communication (C-Com) services for the fire department. When a fire or EMS call is received by C-Com, they alert the firefighters and first responders by pagers. Members respond from home to one of the stations or directly to the scene.

The numbers of calls do not dictate the necessity to staff the station building 24 hours a day, but because of the pager system, members are always on duty. The average response time is 6 1/2 minutes.

Station 31 is staffed every Tuesday evening for training and both stations are staffed on Sunday mornings from 10 am - 12 pm for apparatus checks. Stop by during those times, if you would like to visit a station and see the equipment.
How We Operate
Please be aware that when members respond to an emergency in their personal vehicles, they will turn on their hazard lights and, if available, a flashing red light. If you see a car traveling with their flashers on, please pull to the right of the roadway in a safe area to allow the firefighters to pass.
